Brittany Mahomes was driven wild by Patrick’s sweet gesture and responded in kind amid Chiefs milestone
What a year it has been for Patrick Mahomes. The star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs led his team to a Super Bowl win in February, and he has the NFL’s two-time defending champions well-poised for a historic three-peat on the strength of their 15-1 record — which improved following a Christmas Day victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Things are going just as well for Patrick at home. His wife Brittany is due to give birth to the couple’s third child “any day now”, according to Patrick, and the Chiefs’ most recent accomplishment was completed with her in mind. Wednesday’s 29-10 win clinched the top seed in the AFC for the Chiefs, and just in the nick of time.
Patrick keeps another promise
Speaking to Netflix following Kansas City’s latest victory, Mahomes revealed the promise he made to his wife: the Chiefs would lock up the top seed in the conference as soon as possible so that he could be home to take care of her following childbirth.
That goal has now been achieved, a promise upheld. And Brittany took to Instagram Stories to reveal her delight at the promise’s fulfillment.
“Always keeping his promises,” she wrote.
As Brittany’s due date fast approaches, Patrick’s regular season work might be complete. The Chiefs visit the Denver Broncos in Week 18 to wrap up the season slate; as Kansas City has nothing to play for, Mahomes and other regulars like Travis Kelce could be rested that day. If that proves to be the case, Mahomes will end 2024 with 67.5 pass completion percentage, 3,928 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions
