Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been in hot water of late. This is after a report emerged that the soon-to-be mother-of-three is reconsidering her political stance for the upcoming presidential election.
According to reports, Mahomes was shaken “to the core” after Republican nominee Donald Trump professed his “hate” toward Taylor Swift after the latter came out with her endorsement for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Apparently, this did not sit well with Mahomes, who has reportedly been forced to rethink her support for the former president.
Mahomes has been on the receiving end of intense backlash over this news, with a lot of fans pointing out that this recent development surrounding Swift, of all things, is what is making Mahomes reconsider her political leanings.
This is exactly what renowned Hollywood actor turned TV host Whoopi Goldberg came out to say during the Wednesday, Sept. 18, episode of ABC’s long-running talk show “The View.”
Goldberg did not hold back as she ripped into the polarizing NFL wife.
Trump is] politically activating her army of Swifties, and there are also rumors that her best friend Brittany Mahomes, who was hit with backlash for liking a pro-MAGA post is rethinking her alleged support,” Goldberg said (h/t the Daily Mail).
“Some could say, because he’s mad at your best friend, now you’re mad? It didn’t bother you that he was being a racist and being a misogynist and … that didn’t get you going?”
Mahomes has formed quite a bond with Swift over the past year or so after the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Rumors came out that there was a spat between Swift and Mahomes after the pair was seen sitting in separate suites during Kansas’ season-opening win against the Baltimore Ravens. This came shortly after Mahomes liked a pro-Trump post on social media.
The two, however, were together during the U.S. Open tennis final in New York on Sept. 8. Swift was also spotted at the Mahomes residence in Kansas City on Sunday, Sept. 15, during Patrick Mahomes’ 29th birthday party.
