Selena Gomez has reacted to rumours that Taylor Swift could appear in Only Murders in the Building.

The beloved Disney+ show is back for a fourth season and fans of the series couldn’t be more excited.

The season premiered on August 27, with episodes released weekly on Tuesdays. There’s lots to look forward to, including a star-studded cast and a long list of confirmed guest stars. Expect the likes of Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Melissa McCarthy to appear alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, who all reprise their roles.

There are also rumours that one of Gomez’s famous friends could be making a cameo in the upcoming season. Much to fans’ excitement, it’s thought that Taylor Swift might make a surprise appearance. What’s more, the cast said they’d love Swift to join the show, though it might be a tad tricky in terms of scheduling.
When quizzed about the Eras Tour singer, Gomez told E! News: “You’re hilarious.” Referencing her bestie’s international tour, Gomez added: “She’s a little busy, you guys.”

However, she did not deny that Swift could make an appearance, nor did her co-stars who embraced the idea. “Listen, she calls us every day,” laughed Steve. “Here—she’s calling right now. Ahh I’ll take it later,” and Martin joked: “No, I was talking to Taylor around 3:00 a.m.”

It’s possible Swift could make fans’ ‘Wildest Dreams’ come true with a cameo. She’s no stranger to the small screen, previously appearing in shows including CSI and New Girl, and she’s been friends with Gomez for years. As for how the Emmy-nominated star might look to incorporate her bestie in the show, it remains to be seen. Fans do have some ideas, though.

Sharing suggestions on Reddit, one viewer said: “They could use no body, no crime in the show. Please let this happen.” Someone replied: “There would 100% a reference or two to her music. I’m hearing Charles say ‘And after she killed [victim], she was driving… the getaway car!’” A different viewer added: “OMG! Putting in little references to some of her songs, with her having a role, would be hilarious,” and another agreed: “Taylor would be a fun addition!”

Elsewhere, a fan joked: “Great, now I need to see an amazing Howard and Taylor Swift interaction that may never happen. I feel like they wouldn’t get along and it would be hilarious. Like her cats are too fancy for his cats.” A second teased: “I thought that maybe he would look down on her since she’s traveling a lot and doesn’t get a lot of cat-time. Like “I’d never leave Sevelyn alone to tour but okay…”
