Here’s a fun thought……If Taylor Swift endorsed DT instead of KH, she’d instantly become a role model for a LARGE majority of those who love to bash her. You know, the ones who can’t stand her personal beliefs, views, and choices. Suddenly all of these critics would be fans….simply because she shares their political view.
Isn’t that hilarious?
But seriously…..celebrity endorsements often mean very little. Most of them live in a bubble. BUT Taylor Swift at least recognizes the struggles people DO face and she genuinely tries to make a difference. Her opinion shouldn’t flip someone’s world upside down, but it IS worth acknowledging her efforts to help…..
So…..why do some people really hate on Taylor?

It’s ideological.
She pushes against the grain of traditional views of women being all submissive and conforming to certain roles. What really gets under their skin? Her dating life! OMG, she’s had multiple boyfriends and isn’t married and has no children! The horror! Her independence?! Yep, she’s in charge of her own career and life. Gasp! She’s not preaching that a woman’s worth is tied to a man. How terrible. 🙄
Taylor is more than her chart topping hits and sold out stadiums. She’s a living, breathing statement that women CAN do life solo, if they choose. This ridiculous notion scares the old school thinkers who need women to be tied down to feel comfortable.
Let’s face it. Taylor Swift’s personal life decisions are GOLD. Avoiding bad choices….she’s better single than in a train wreck marriage that ends in divorce. She has a demanding career. A daily routine of jet setting sometimes doesn’t mix with stable relationships. She chose her happiness over norms.
Because, guess what?
Personal happiness trumps ticking societal boxes.
However…in a beautiful turn of events, Taylor HAS found someone who complements her independence and her vibrant, busy life. She’s in a happy and healthy relationship, showing that you CAN have independence AND love. Maybe he’s her soulmate. Time will tell. But, this relationship doesn’t undermine her own strength. Instead, it only reinforces the idea that a true partnership respects each other’s individuality. Maybe this balance is exactly what she was waiting for all along.
Taylor is also generous, having donated millions to charity. Your faves could never. She’s a marketing whiz and a business mogul. Cry foul play all you want, but ANY successful entrepreneur does the EXACT same thing. “It’s just a tax write off.” Okay? And they can either pay those taxes or use them to help people in need……just like she does, and will continue to do.
Anyways….at the end of the day, Taylor Swift’s life isn’t up for debate. Every woman should live their life free from societal judgment or nonsense expectations. So whether or not she’s married or has kids, or supports your political views, her choices are valid AND dignified.
So, here’s a tip for all the critics.
