Chiefs offensive coach discusses DeAndre Hopkins’ greatest strengths when paired with Patrick Mahomes ahead of Week 8 debut
Kansas City Chiefs coach Matt Nagy spoke about DeAndre Hopkins’ strengths before he makes his team debut.
The Kansas City Chiefs will look to advance to 7-0 on Sunday when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders in an AFC West matchup.
Ahead of the game, the Chiefs made a massive move to bolster their offense, trading for All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins. While the team has not yet officially confirmed if he will be active against the Raiders, they will likely need him with their current injury struggles.
Leading up to the matchup, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy spoke about Hopkins’ biggest on-the-field strengths.
“The biggest thing right now is his hands are phenomenal,” Nagy said. “He has really, really good hands. I think he’s got some of the least amount of drops in the history of the NFL, but the experience that he has. What comes, I think, with that is trust. He’s played in a lot of games, he understands and he’s seen a bunch of different defenses. That’s valuable, whether it’s zone or man.”
Nagy continued, getting into his off-the-field strengths and how they can impact the entire rest of the team.
