Clark Hunt and wife celebrate major milestone with $26million gift for Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS owner Clark Hunt celebrated a major milestone with wife Tavia Hunt by handing a $26million gift to his team.
American billionaire Hunt, 59, has been the chairman of the Chiefs since 2005 and was a founding investor into Major League Soccer.
However, off the pitch, Hunt has celebrated a remarkable 31-year anniversary with his wife, Tavia.
And coincidentally the injury-hit Chiefs were bolstered by the arrival of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
The 32-year-old has arrived in a trade deal from the Tennessee Titans for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2025 on a contract worth $26m.
It bolsters the depleted ranks of Andy Reid, with Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster all out.
Taking to Instagram, Tavia wrote a long tribute to their happy marriage.
She said: “Today we’re celebrating 31 years of marriage! It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for over three decades — especially since we still feel like newlyweds… sometimes.
“Through the years, we’ve built a life full of faith, family, and love, and let’s be honest — learned some hard and valuable lessons along the way (like when to hold your tongue or when it’s time to let the other person win a small argument).
“Some seasons have been easier and some more challenging than others, but we’ve always been on the same team.
“This year has been one of the best yet, which is proof that God knows what he’s doing…
“We’ve shared countless memories, laughs, wins & losses, tears, and plenty of the look that says ‘I told you so,’ but through it all, love and grace have led the way.
“Every day isn’t perfect (some days it’s just survival!) but we wouldn’t trade this life we’ve built for anything.
“Here’s to many more years of growing, laughing, and leaning in on the One who makes it all possible.”
The Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls.
They have also had a 100 per cent winning start to the season.
Their last game saw them beat the Philadelphia 49ers 28-18.
The addition of Hopkins should only serve to strengthen their chances of winning once again.
However, Hopkins has had a slow start to the season.
He has managed just 15 catches for 173 yards.
But he is a proven playmaker over his career, with over 12,500 yards and 79 touchdowns.
