Fans think Billie Eilish is on a Charli XCX remix and rumours say it’s a Taylor Swift diss track!?
It’s a bit of a pop music emergency for Brats and beyond, to be honest. Because as rumours continue to build that Charli XCX is about to drop her remix album of Brat – with big names on board – Charli fuelled the fire by announcing the remix for Guess is coming with a feature on it. Guess is a track on the deluxe version of Brat, which saw Charli work with The Dare to produce one of the most bombastic, fan fave tracks on the record. And now the remix is coming, Charli XCX teased for fans to err, guess, who the collab is going to be – with all eyes on Billie Eilish.
I mean, it doesn’t take a genius to have the first thought of that being Billie Eilish – the style is exactly Billie’s vibe. Fans also counted the spaces on the tab at the side of the artwork. There are exactly enough character spaces for “Billie Eilish” with the space in the middle.
Another fan spotted that the rings pulling the t-shirt up match Billie Eilish’s rings seen in her recent appearance on Chicken Shop Date.
So, whilst Charli XCX has not yet confirmed that Billie Eilish is the featured artist on Guess – there are even more rumours that the song will allegedly be a diss track towards Taylor Swift after Taylor blocked both Billie and Charli from number one on the charts. This happened when Taylor would release extra variants of The Tortured Poets Department to maintain her hold at the number one spot – which fans interpreted as shady. There were also reports of Billie’s team liking shady tweets about Taylor doing this when the album released a couple of months back.
Alleged lyrics from the verse on Guess that Billie Eilish is seemingly featuring on with Charli XCX have surfaced on forums and then gone viral on Twitter – with the lyrics “Blocked from number one, you can guess how that feels / but she’s the one obsessing if we’re keeping it real” raising eyebrows as Taylor Swift shade. The alleged lyrics have come from ATRL, a forum that is private and often contains reliable leaks from people who get to hear the music first.
Previous Taylor shade has come from Billie over the last few months, with her making comments about “wasteful” physical album variants and saying “Nobody needs that many songs on an album” on a live after Taylor released TTPD with 30 songs on it.
There were also rumours that Sympathy is a Knife on Brat was Charli XCX shading Taylor Swift, because of the lyric “don’t want to see you backstage at my boyfriend’s show”. Charli is engaged to George Daniels of the 1975 – and Taylor Swift was briefly involved with frontman Matty Healy.
We’ll know soon enough if the Guess remix actually features Billie Eilish and if it is indeed some of the most explosive Taylor Swift shade yet.
