Harry Potter fans spot Emma Watson blunder from first movies
Eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans notice something about a young Emma Watson in the early movies
Harry Potter fans have noticed a small blunder in some of young Emma Watson’s earliest scenes.
In a TikTok video, that has hundreds of thousands of views, we see the young trio filming a scene from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s not clear whether this is just a rehearsal scene or one that might have made the cut.
It’s the scene where they’ve realised what might be underneath the trap door, but instead of using the word philosopher, they’re using sorcerer. That’s because they changed the movie name to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone for American audiences.
In the video, Emma – who plays Hermione Granger – is mouthing along to Daniel Radcliffe’s lines. Daniel said: “That’s what’s underneath the trap door – The Sorcerer’s Stone. A stone that makes gold and stops you from dying.”
As he’s delivering the line, you can see Emma mouthing the words too.
Then Rupert Grint – AKA Ron Weasley – cuts in and said: “Something doesn’t make sense. If all Snape wants is the Sorcerer’s Stone, why did he try and kill you during the Quidditch match?”
Again, you can see Emma mouthing the words as he’s speaking.
