Jason Kelce breaks silence on the alleged ‘relationship contract’ between his brother Travis and Taylor Swift that was posted online “You won’t hear anything from…”
Jason Kelce seems to have quashed rumours that his brother Travis and Taylor Swift are on the brink of a split after the online circulation of an alleged ‘relationship contract’.
Earlier this week, social media was abuzz with a supposed contract between the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the singer, suggesting they were set to part ways at the end of this month.
A document allegedly outlining their planned separation and subsequent publicity strategy was shared.
The paperwork stated the couple would announce their split on September 28 – after the NFL season had started.
It further detailed they would issue a “gracious” and “respectful” statement, allowing three days “post break up” for the initial media frenzy to die down.
However, Travis’ representatives quickly denied any plans for him to separate from Swift later this month. It also appears that his brother Jason has dismissed the claims, following his interaction with a Swift fan on social media.
One fan wrote that Jason had been spinning yarns to his kids about cats being toxic, just to make sure they steer clear of wanting one. Yet, another admirer threw a spanner in the works, asking what the Philadelphia Eagles icon would do when his kids encounter Swift’s feline friends. Jason quipped in response: “It’s gonna be hilarious”.
Jason’s banter should quash any unease amongst Travis and Swift enthusiasts who were taken aback by the erroneous break up announcement. As the Daily Mail unveiled, the statement was ready to announce: “Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration.”
“They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time. They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.”
It was claimed the alleged paperwork was drawn up by Full Scope, a Los Angeles-based firm. Full Scope’s spokesperson was quick to debunk the reports, stating they were “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorised by this agency”.
They also confirmed that legal experts have been called, but tracking down the prankster might prove tricky. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” they said.
Jason and his wife Kylie have become tight-knit with Swift, often seen cheering together at Chiefs games. Jason has openly commended Swift for her down-to-earth nature despite her fame, particularly noticeable during her recent The Eras Tour.
“My brother and his love life is definitely the topic of the NFL right now, and my whole thing with that is as long as Trav is happy and enjoying life, I’m happy and enjoying life,” Kelce said. “I’ve been fortunate to meet Taylor now. She’s awesome, [a] down-to-earth, genuine person, which has been great to see, whenever you’re seeing anyone of that caliber of stardom still remain as grounded as they are.”
