In a dazzling display of humor and heart, Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, alongside some of the most renowned figures in comedy, transformed a night of entertainment into a monumental fundraising event for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

The event, dubbed “The Big Slick Party and Show,” not only celebrated the comedic talents of its participants but also underscored their commitment to a noble cause, raising an impressive $3.9 million in one evening.

Stars Align for a Cause

Hosted at the T-Mobile Center, the evening was anything but ordinary. The event brought together the comedic genius of actors Eric Stonestreet and Paul Rudd, and comedian Rob Riggle—all fervent supporters of the Chiefs. The star-studded lineup did not stop there; Jason Sudeikis also joined, adding his unique blend of humor to the mix.

The chemistry between the NFL stars and their comedic counterparts was palpable, with skits that both entertained and poked fun at the players themselves. One memorable moment mirrored the iconic “Saturday Night Live” skit “Da’ Bears,” but with a local twist featuring Mahomes and Kelce.

Big Slick Event Raises $25,000,000

The success of “The Big Slick Party and Show” is not measured merely by the laughter it provokes, but also by its significant impact on the community. Since its inception in 2010, the event has cumulatively raised over $25 million for Children’s Mercy Hospital, a testament to the enduring dedication of its organizers and participants.

Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce Visit the White House

Adding to the allure of the weekend’s events, the preceding day saw Mahomes and Kelce at the White House celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory. The visit was marked by another humorous exchange involving Kelce and President Joe Biden.

With the team assembled behind him, Biden humorously hesitated before inviting Kelce to the podium, saying, “I’d have Travis come up here but God only knows what he’ll say.”

Kelce, undeterred, approached and quipped, “I’m not going to lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here, I would get tased,” referencing a playful threat from their previous visit.
