Prince William and Kate Middleton’s unusual date night activity left onlookers ‘all a twitter’

Prince William and Kate Middleton sure know how to pick a quirky date night spot and it left fans completely shocked by how low-key they went.

When they’re not busy with their royal duties, the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoy spending their downtime out of the limelight with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. But back in October 2023, they managed to sneak off for a romantic evening and stopped by Dreweatts, an auction house a stone’s throw from their home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Kate was said to have looked “very, very interested” in some of the items on offer. The couple were browsing a collection of antiques once owned by Robert Kime, a decorator and antiques dealer who King Charles hired in 2000 to redecorate Highgrove and Clarence House.
The items included fancy rugs and vases valued at as much as £1.5million ($1.9million). A source told The Daily Mail: “Everyone was all of a twitter to see them.
It was the beginning of the very big champagne reception that auctioneers always have before a serious date.” While Dreweatt and Kensington Palace kept quiet about the visit, however, rumors suggest William and Kate might’ve had someone phone in a bid on their behalf.
If the couple did put in an offer for any of the pieces, it is likely they would have been for their friends and family, rather than something for themselves.
