REPORT: Adam Schefter Reveals 3 Big-Named WRs The Kansas City Chiefs Could Target In Blockbuster Trade To Replace Superstar Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs were dealt a big blow in Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, with star wide receiver Rashee Rice likely out for the season after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter.

Kansas City is still awaiting official confirmation on Rashee Rice’s injury, but early reports state that the team fears it’s a season-ending ACL tear. Rice was inadvertently hit in the knee by teammate Patrick Mahomes when the latter tried to make a tackle on an interception return.
Speaking on “Get Up,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter listed three big-named star receivers that Kansas City could target to replace Rice. Schefter specifically listed DeAndre Hopkins (Tennessee Titans), Amari Cooper (Cleveland Browns) and Diontae Johnson (Carolina Panthers).
You go to a team like Tennessee…it’s trying to save its season. If they keep losing and don’t get their season turned around, could they eventually trade a guy like DeAndre Hopkins? The Browns have won one game, would they be willing to entertain a trade for Amari Cooper? I think if Carolina and Diontae Johnson, if they don’t start winning football games. Diontae Johnson’s in the last year of his contract.”
Rashee Rice is the Chiefs’ leading receiver through four games, with 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Travis Kelce is second with 15 catches for 158 yards, and rookie Xavier Worthy is third (9-154-2).
Kansas City also lost star wideout Marquise Brown (shoulder) for the entire regular season, and it’s unclear if he’ll return for the playoffs. So the urgency to add another wide receiver following Rice’s injury has grown even higher for GM Brett Veach.
The Chiefs are off to a perfect 4-0 start following a close 17-10 road victory over Justin Herbert and the Bolts. All four of Kansas City’s victories have been decided by seven points or less.
Kansas City returns home for a Week 5 Monday night clash with the New Orleans Saints.
Chiefs Should Move Quickly To Replace Rashee Rice
The Chiefs were fortunate to win Super Bowl 58 last season despite a lackluster group of receivers outside of Rice. We know they’re good enough to win with Patrick Mahomes and that lights-out defense, but adding another playmaker like Cooper, Hopkins or Johnson would go a long way in strengthening the Chiefs’ chances of a three-peat.
