Simone Biles’ Estranged Sister Defends Their Birth Mom Amid Criticism: “She’s Not A Bad Person”
Simone Biles‘ birth mother, Shanon Biles, recently sat down with The Daily Mail to express her desire to reunite with her Olympian daughter. The interview went viral, with many of the gymnasts’ fans taking to social media to defend her decision to keep her distance, questioning her mother’s decision to reunite amid her massive summer of success.
The elder Biles is now being defended by another daughter, Micah, who believes Simone’s fans should show more empathy for their mother, who battled addiction for much of her life.
“I want to come to this internet and defend my mom,” Micah begins her TikTok, captured by TNT. “Because she might not be everything we expected her to be, but at the end of the day, she’s still a work in progress, and we give her that.”
Simone chose not to have a relationship with my mom, and that’s fine, that was her choice,” she went on, adding that she, herself, did not develop a true relationship with their mother until the age of 17 due to her addiction. Still, this is nothing to shame Shanon for, according to her baby girl.

Shanon Biles spoke of wanting to reconnect with her superstar daughter, saying she has the 27-year-old’s number, but won”t use it because she wants Simone to reach out to her, if that’s what she truly wants.
“I want her to reach out to me. She’s 27 now. She’s married,” she stated. “I would have liked to have been a part of that, but I just have to wait for her. You can’t push anybody. It hasn’t happened yet, but I have patience. I’m waiting on her.”
