Simone Biles’ mother’s gesture to repay her daughter’s trainer for years of affection
Simone Biles, a legendary name in gymnastics, has always spoken highly of her coaches, Cecile and Laurent Landi, for their influence both on and off the mat.
Over the years, the bond between Biles and the Landis has grown beyond that of athlete and coach-it’s become a familial relationship built on trust and support.
Recently, this tight-knit circle came together to celebrate a significant achievement for Cecile and Laurent’s daughter, Juliette Landi.
Juliette Landi’s Exciting Milestone
Cecile Landi recently announced on social media that her daughter Juliette had signed to study and compete at Auburn University as part of their diving team.
The heartfelt post highlighted Juliette’s long journey toward fulfilling her dreams, which began as a child growing up in gyms surrounded by Olympians. Cecile expressed her pride in Juliette’s accomplishments, noting that her daughter had competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics for France before committing to Auburn University.
The celebration included family photos of Juliette wearing an Auburn University T-shirt, standing by a table filled with pictures and treats, as well as the iconic Auburn “AU” prominently displayed. Juliette’s passion for diving began just three years ago after discovering scuba diving, a transition inspired by her exposure to the elite athletes her parents have coached.
Support from the Gymnastics Community
The announcement sparked an outpouring of support from the gymnastics world, including Simone Biles’ mother, Nellie Biles, who commented with a warm congratulatory message for Juliette.
Jordan Chiles’ mother, Gina Chiles, also joined the celebration, reflecting the close relationships that have formed within this community. Both Simone and Jordan have credited the Landis for their unwavering support, both in their gymnastics careers and personal lives.
Juliette’s milestone is a moment of pride not just for her parents but for the entire circle that has been a part of the Landis’ journey. Messages of encouragement also came from notable figures such as UCLA Head Coach Janelle McDonald and gymnast Olivia Greaves, who is also part of Auburn’s athletic community
