Super Bowl LIX: Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce spotted out in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Power couple Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce were spotted on Friday night eating at a restaurant while in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

On Sunday, Kelce and his teammates will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles — a veritable rematch of Super Bowl LVII in 2023, where the Chiefs came out victorious, 38-35.

New Orleans resident Geoff Jacques was sitting at the bar at Lilette in Uptown New Orleans when he said, “I was with a friend eating dinner. Joe Montana was there with his family and he walked back to tell some “special guests” hello. I was leaving to go to Bouligny bar next door after dinner, there were people gathering towards the back and that’s when I saw them.”

Jacques went on to say, “All this is just confirmation that there is no place like HOME.”

Jacques said he saw Swift and Kelce as well as Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes who were with Swift and Kelce.

While every Super Bowl is a star-studded event, the introduction of pop star Swift into the weekly football equation has brought even more notoriety and eyes to the season. Since 2023, the first football season to occur after Swift and Kelce went public, there’s been much discussion of “The Taylor Swift effect” on the National Football League.

In addition to a boost in ratings (which many report came from female viewers in Swift’s audience demographic), Swift’s attendance of games also preceded a 400% increase in Kelce’s jersey sales, as reported by Forbes.

Going into Super Bowl LIX, some on the internet have been theorizing that Kelce might pop the question to Swift after the game.

Chatter is so fervent, FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists odds that Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift at +750 and the odds of it not happening are -1,500.
