Taylor Swift thanks Travis Kelce in 2024 MTV VMAs Acceptance Speech, “Anything this man touches turns into happiness, fun and magic” Chiefs Star Blushingly Reacts… Watch Video of Taylor’s acceptance speech
Taylor Swift gave a special shout-out to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, while accepting the award for video of the year at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday.
“Everything that man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic and I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot,” the “Lover” songstress said after taking home the trophy for the “Fortnight” video.
She shared the sweet comment after recalling the NFL star being a constant positive energy on the set and always cheering her on between takes.
Swift led this year’s nominations with 12 total for song of the year, video of the year, best direction, best collaboration, best editing, best cinematography, best visual effects, best art direction and song of the summer.
Eight of the 34-year-old pop sensation’s nominations come from her “The Tortured Poets Department” album track, “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone.
The artists took home the award for best collaboration for “Fortnight.”
Swift dressed on theme for the A-list event, donning a sparkling silver dress with a UFO graphic with black straps for the ceremony.
She styled her blond locks with light waves and ditched her signature red lip for a neutral shade.
The “Cruel Summer” singer’s wardrobe change came after she arrived on the red carpet wearing a yellow and black plaid bustier and skirt from Dior’s 2025 resort collection.
Swift also spotted velvet shorts, strappy leather opera gloves, a checkered choker and thigh-high leather boots.
She accessorized her chic look with 30-carat yellow diamond earrings from Lorraine Schwarz.
The pop star walked the red carpet solo after Page Six confirmed Kelce, 34, wouldn’t be attending due to prior commitments with work.
“[Travis] had to be back in Kansas City by Tuesday for practice,” a source told us.
Kelce, who started dating Swift last summer, is gearing up with the Chiefs to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 15.
The 14-time Grammy winner notably supported her beau in the Chiefs’ first victory of the 2024-2025 season against the Baltimore Ravens last week before they jetted off to New York City together over the weekend.
