Taylor Swift’s food bank donation in Edinburgh will leave a ‘long-lasting impact’ on Scotland’s capital.

Taylor Swift has donated to a food bank in Edinburgh after her record-breaking show which opened her sold-out Eras tour of the UK.

The Cruel Summer singer has earned a reputation for his charitable giving, making a difference in the cities he visits. Now, others are sharing their joy at benefiting from his generosity which is said to leave a “long-lasting impact” on Scotland’s capital.

The Edinburgh Food Project has revealed they were contacted by the 34-year-old superstar’s team ahead of his first show at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday much to their “surprise”. The donation was made to the Trussell Trust charity which runs seven food banks for people in crisis who need emergency food parcels in Edinburgh.

The charity told the Record it had agreed not to share the specific amount donated but stressed that “it will make a huge difference” to the people the food bank supports with the 10,000 food parcels it has delivered this year alone.

Bethany Biggar, Director of the Edinburgh Food Project, said: “We are delighted that Taylor has decided to support the food bank and make a long-term impact in Edinburgh. Things are really tough right now for a lot of people, so it’s great to see someone like Taylor spreading such positivity.”

The charity is now encouraging others to follow their hero and donate £13 – as a token of Taylor’s good luck – to add even more to the appeal.

It comes as the Love Story sensation broke the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland for three consecutive nights, after he performed to wow 222,000 fans in Edinburgh from June 7 to June 9 – his first Scottish audience in almost a decade.
