Tom Brady’s Latest Move Has Fans Wondering If His Days As A Commentator Are Numbered
Brady’s transition from legendary quarterback to NFL team ownership is almost complete, with league sources indicating his bid will be put to a vote requiring approval from 24 of the 32 team owners. Given the finance committee’s unanimous endorsement, it is anticipated that Brady will secure ownership of approximately 10% of the Raiders, alongside businessman Tom Wagner. This follows an agreement originally set in motion in May 2023, which required adjustments to meet league financial standards.
Mark Davis, current Raiders owner, expressed his enthusiasm for Brady’s involvement, noting that Brady will become only the third player in NFL history to join the ranks of team owners. Previously, notable figures like George Halas and Jerry Richardson have held similar roles, cementing this as a rare accomplishment.
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, retired in 2023 and had earlier signed a massive 10-year contract with Fox Sports to become an analyst, set to begin in 2024. However, his ambition extends beyond broadcasting, as his new role with the Raiders will see him follow in the footsteps of other sports legends who have ventured into ownership, such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Patrick Mahomes.
