VP JD Vance doubled down on the economic case ahead of the midterms, contrasting the record of Joe Biden with the first year under President Trump.
Vance argued that Americans saw a drop in take-home pay during the Biden years but have gained ground under Trump, saying the country is still recovering from what he called the previous administration’s economic setbacks.
“Do you want to give the government back over to the people who frankly burned down the house and made most Americans much less wealthy and much less safe? Or do you want to double down on Trump’s leadership, which has helped us recover from some of the problems caused by Joe Biden and then has built a lot on top of it,” Vance asked.
