The Chiefs snapped a two-game losing streak in front of Taylor Swift Sunday
Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe admitted he wasn’t a fan of the pop star
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce was left exhilarated by the team’s win on Sunday, even if he didn’t know which quarterback they had beaten.
The Chiefs snapped their two-game losing streak on Sunday with a 27-17 win over the England Patriots with Travis’s girlfriend Taylor Swift watching on once again.
After losses to the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills the two previous weeks, Travis welcomed Sunday’s win with a sigh of relief as he spoke to brother Jason, who wasn’t as lucky as the Philadelphia Eagles slid to their third straight loss on Monday night.
‘F***ing exhilarating,’ Travis said on their New Heights podcast. ‘I don’t mean to rub it in, I love you. I can’t wait for you guys to win this week, so you can get off the train, man. The L train sucks.
‘But it was not an easy one, we managed to put up some points. We played a well-rounded team game, all three phases getting after it. Unfortunately, we need to cut back on the turnovers as an offense.’

Jason took a moment to highlight Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice who hauled in nine receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, and by doing so set the record for most receiving touchdowns by a rookie in Chiefs franchise history (7).
And Travis had nothing but praise for the rookie as he credited Chiefs head coach Andy Reid for helping young players develop.
‘I’m proud as hell for him,’ he said of Rice. ‘I love him, man. He’s slowly been getting more and more responsibility as this year’s gone on. Him and Pat have been able to create a great relationship and a great common ground, in big key moments too. I think his game is going to keep going.
‘Coach Reid does a great job with young players, I know because he helped me out a lot as a young player, but he’s going to keep putting Rashee in great places and great positions to have success moving forward. I’m just happy for him, I think he’s just taking a lot more ownership. I’m excited as hell for him.’
In the third quarter Sunday, Kansas City linebacker Willie Gay intercepted an ill-advised pass from Bailey Zappe to Pharoah Brown before making a long return to set up the Chiefs in the red zone.
But Travis seemingly didn’t even know the name of the Patriots quarterback as he interrupted Jason’s breakdown of play.
‘The [Chiefs] defense dominated again as usual,’ Jason began. ‘Another big game holding the pass to just 17 points, finished with four sacks, seven tackles for loss and an interception. Linebacker Willie Gay intercepted Bailey Zappe…
‘Zappe? Bailey Zappe? His first name is Bailey? Interesting…’ Travis chimed in, to which baffled Jason simply responded: ‘……alrighty.’

In the buildup to Sunday’s game, Zappe had admitted that he was not a fan of Travis’s op star girlfriend Taylor, who has dominated headlines in recent months with her star-studded appearances at NFL games.
During a radio appearance last week, he said: ‘No ma’am. No ma’am. This is not a shot at Taylor Swift.
‘I’m not not a fan, I just don’t listen to that music. Is she Country? I’m a Country guy. So that’s probably why since she transferred over to pop.
‘I know some of her old songs whenever she was in Country. I mean…I don’t dislike her.’
The Chiefs next face the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day before taking on the Cincinnati Bengals on New Year’s Eve, playing both games at Arrowhead Stadium.
Meanwhile, Jason and the Eagles will look to get off the ‘L train’ with a Christmas Day clash against the New York Giants.
